Included in the sale of M. T. Shaw at Christie's on 20 March 1880 as from the collection of John Pound, the son by her first marriage of Turner's housekeeper Mrs Booth, but the work of this title in his sale at Christie's on 25 March 1865 was given different measurements. In any case it seems to be a genuine work of the late 1820s, similar to some of the Cowes sketches and to 'Rocky Bay with Figures' (No.483).
